Got one of these callers and I urge everyone in California to report them to the police, the penal code section is 653 (m) PC Annoying or harassing phone calls. Maybe if they start getting arrested this nonsense will stop.
10:06 AM today...with one call they left 4 separate blank voicemail messages, each lasting 14 seconds. 1:10 PM - I answered call to hear the caller repeat my first and last name several times before hanging up. I was careful not to confirm my identity. When I called the number back, I got an "error" recording.
Decided to actually answer it. Woman said she was from a home center. Asked what home project I would likely do next. I told her next project was to call the police and have her arrested because she was breaking the law. She said she was not that she had been doing this for 30 years and that she was doing everything legal. I asked her why then was she using a bogus phone number. And that maybe she had been screwing people out of their money for 30 years, but she wasn't going to add my name to her list. I then hung up.
Called on my cell. Unknown number, left no message, caller now blocked. I do not answer unknown numbers. Thank you to everyone who posts here. The only way to stop these calls is to not respond to them.
