They called on 11 January 2017 claiming there was a bad virus on our computer. The woman said she was an independent technician working for Microsoft, working in Cincinnati. She sounded like she was from New Delhi. She wanted to charge us $299 to fix our computer. I told her I was calling the FBI and hung up.
Caller said I had a virus. Said my computer was malfunctioning. Said my internet was slow (none of this is true. My computer is working perfectly and flying fast).
Asked my to open Google Chrome. Then proceeded to give me a www. address. I got bored stalling this scammer and keeping him online. DO NOT DO AS THEY ASK!! DO NOT GIVE PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS
These guys claimed to be from IYogi an online security service which I used. It turns out that IYogi was put out of business by the State of Washington. I was scammed, hacked and stupid. I guess if someone is checking this number now, its too late.
They are a scam. They say they need to update your computer as they have detected a virus. I told them the virus is so bad that I can't open my PC anymore. Please have someone come to my house to fix it and I will pay them. They hung up.
