This is EXACTLY what just happened to me!!! i am sooo pissed!!! i dont know what to do. if you tried something and it worked or if you did not get screwed somehow, let me know... I am not sure what is going to happen either. i gave out my info too...
I answered the phone today when I saw the number and I just yelled at the girl to Quit calling my cell phone - she was like 'wait you have to hear what I'm calling for' and I was very insistent and told her to listen to me and STOP CALLING MY CELL PHONE -- I haven't heard from them again. Also, don't forget to register your number with the Do Not Call Registry -- just type in DO NOT CALL REGISTRY in a search field and you'll find it.
I IGNORED 3 previous calls from 310-318-0779 (this number has come up two days in a row). If I don't recognize a number, I don't pick up. They didn't even leave a message. Right away, I typed the phone number into a websearch and see that the number is a hoax...possibly some telemarketer or robocall system trying to get through. I am VERY angry about this sort of harassment...especially since I am on the "no call list". 213-363-5124 came up on my cell SECONDS after the the other number. I did finally get through to the 213-363-5124 and a voice message stated "if you would like to be placed on our do not call list, press 1". We will see if this works.
OK...I have written message on this forum about this number before. They have called me 2 days in a row, no messages, and I did not pick up. They called AGAIN today (after calling me 4 times) I did pick up. They asked for me by my first name, I replied "what is the nature of this call", she said "we are offering a shopping spree"...I stated "I am not interested". Before I could mention "do not call list", the woman HUNG-UP on me. Someone needs to get rid of these people...report them!!!
I have been receiving numerous calls from 310-318-0779 which comes up as Worldwide Preferred on the caller id. They never leave a message and when I did answer it, they hung up. I looked the number up on a reverse directory and it is registered to the following people at 857 6th St., Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266: Carol A. Anderson, John E. Anderson, Susan R. Anderson, and J.T. Grayson.
I'm debating about the wisdom of contacting them via snail-mail to tell them to stop calling me. I'm afraid to give them any more information that they might not already have.
