This is EXACTLY what just happened to me!!! i am sooo pissed!!! i dont know what to do. if you tried something and it worked or if you did not get screwed somehow, let me know... I am not sure what is going to happen either. i gave out my info too...
I just got a call from these people and now I am a bit scared. They said that they are doing a sweepstakes, and was my address still at ****? How old are you? And then the bit about magazine subscriptions. I declined, and then they were quick to hang up.
I don't use my credit card much, but the mention of David's Bridal above rings a bell. Registered for more information at a bridal show, which I am starting to regret.
I told them my age, as I was caught off guard, but they don't have my current address, as I started to get suspicious. They new an old one though. Am I in danger?
I have also been recieving several calls from this phone number. I have not answered any of the calls and they have not left any messages. I also registered with David's Bridal recently.
I've been getting calls from this jerk since Monday and they'd never leave a message. I got a call yesterday,I answered it and it was a woman asking for me BY NAME and I hung up because for one I don't know anyone from Cali w/ that number. I know a few people from Cali and the ones I do talk to we communicate online and two when you try calling back the voicemail is nothing but static and it tells you the voice mailbox is full. Probably because angry people like us keep leaving them messages which I've never done so because it's always full. I just want to know who it is. Then I JUST received a call and had my fiance answer and the jerk said he was asking for me and that he had the wrong number. My fiance asked who he was and he just hung up. Then I figured it may be a scam because some jerk mailed a check to my mother saying they're from HSBC bank and my mother took it to the bank and they told her it's a scam. So my mother called the number back acting as if she knew nothing and told them that he's a scam and he cursed at my mother by dropping the f bombs and my mother confronted him and hung up so Tis the Season to be Frolly. As in it's the season to be scammed to please be careful and to Shannon that gave her information out,that wasn't smart but be careful and never give out your information over the phone from someone whom you don't know. I know if this jerk calls again he's going to get a piece of our minds on this end! Be safe and careful,everyone!!!
