some robo doll telling me I had student loans.... yeah, sure. I paid for my own college when I went and got out in 2006. they called my DNC listed # so they are criminals / scammers without a doubt. Likely phishing for personal information to steal as well.
A "direct line" is just another telephone number that anyone can dial ... intentionally or by accident.
These are scammers making the calls, everything they say is a lie. Hang up on them as soon as you figure out it is them as they are wasting your time. Their goal is to steal your personal information or your bank account information, or trick you into sending them money via Western Union, etc.
