Scam US treasury threat. From Hawthorne, CA. - not the state I live in.
A Message from 'Steve Martin' who had a very heavy accent and sounded like he was calling from a 'Boiler Room'.
Not calling this Dud(e) back at all.
Caller ID state Hawthorne, CA. The caller is using the old "Your Are being sued by the Treasury Department" Scam. No one should call this number since it is just a scam to obtain personal information. I only have over 30 years of experience in dealing with tax agencies and not once did they use the tactics like this bogus scum is using--but what do I know.
Caller said was from US Treasury with issue regarding taxes. When I called back was told I would be arrested if I did not cooperate. I told him to go ahead. IRS has accepted my taxes and payments and was not audited.
Someone left the message saying he is calling from US treasury. Seems like a scam the person who is calling and trying to
scam innocent senior citizens should be punished ....
Just got the same phone call saying the same thing. Would not give any personal information and told him to go ahea and issue the warrant that I would be waiting!
