A Women called and said that a bank and Credit Card gave them my name for a swepstakes drawing and I could win a lot of prizes. She had my address and wanted to know my age and where I worked. She wanted to give away a dimond watch and sell me some magazines.
A woman calling to say that I was entered into a sweepstakes through one of my credit card companies (didn't say which one). She went through a list of possible prizes ($25,000, vacations, cruises, etc). She wanted to confirm my name, address, and a few other things. I didn't give her any info, but she already had it all somehow.
Of course there was a pitch... She tried to sell me on magazine subscriptions, I told her I wasn't interested and she just said "Well you're still in the sweepstakes" and she immediately hung up.
If I knew which credit card company gave them my name and number I'd cancel the card immediately.
