Scam call - I am so tired of these scam calls. Made the mistake of taking out a payday loan years ago and now this info is being sold to these scam artists. Fraud, scammers, thieves, and they will get their day.
Do not call them, keep a log of how many times they call, when they call, get recordings and report to the FTC and FBI and local police department. Keep a copy of any complaints filed with the police dept.
This is a scam. Do not call them back. Once they start to threaten with "police will come over and take you to jail" over a debt, they are lying. They scare people to get money out of them.
Beware of these crooks. And be careful with your bank accounts, SSI numbers and info.
Take care and be smart, ask questions dont give in to terrorists.
These people are SCAM ARTISTS!!! They called me telling me that I needed to either call them or have my attorney of record speak to him because my government had blacklisted my name and social security number. That I would not be allowed representation when I went to court (because they were going to file against me unless I settled with them immediately), and that I would rot in jail for a long time. LOL! Whatever. I asked him what it was about and he said it was for a pay day advance loan that I received. I NEVER received a pay day loan, I looked into it and decided it wasn't worth it. I explained this to him, and he got mad and started yelling at me. I asked them to put the debt in writing and send it to me, and he said he couldn't do that because it was already filed with the court. I asked him "is it filed or isn't it, because you just told me you would file it if I didn't pay you immediately. He got pissed off and started yelling at me. I simply told him that I wasn't interested in speaking to him if he couldn't prove the debt. Then they called me 15 times in 8 minutes on my office phone, and then about 6 times on my cell phone. I warned him that I would report harassment charges, and they kept calling. So I reported them to the Federal Trade Commission, and the FBI. Then when they started that calling me over and over and over again, I finally picked up and told him that I had reported him. Once he heard FBI, he hung up on me and didn't call back.
I just got a call from someone who says his name is Scott Thomas, yeah right. He left a message on my voicemail saying I owe a debt and If I would like to settle out of court and avoid charges than I need to call immediately. I called back and adv him that I appreciate that message, because now I can sue you for FDCPA violations. He said we cant sue him, and that he will sue us because he is "Law Firm". Just to play around with him, I had one of them call with a fake name and fake number, and the guy said she still owed money, and will only take a prepaid visa card. This is obviously a prepaid disposable phone number and a scam. Dont fall for it
