Caller ID showed "DRRECOMMENDED", so I let it go to the answering machine. No message, but the disconnect left the circuit open, and my answering machine proceeded to record fast busy. Thanks morons. If you're going to autodial, and not even leave a msg, at least disconnect properly.
Do Not Call list certainly doesn't stop a lot of these who are clearly not companies I do business with or political or charitable organizations (which leaves loads of exceptions). I've been reading good things about some of the call blockers mentioned in 800notes. Might be worth the investment.
I got the same message from "Emily" from the "Pain Clinic" offering me information about a new FDA approved pain cream. I was indoors and said "Hello?? Can you hear me?" She responded accordingly but it's definitely an automated voice. The other creepy thing is I just purchased some Bengay cream from Target about an hour ago, just prior to receiving this call.
This # called around dinner time tonight. The caller ID read 'Drrecommended'.....identified herself as Emily...after I asked where they're calling from she said she'd be brief....tried to offer me some FDA approved pain relief cream...I hung up...WTF?
The Do Not Call lists are actually fairly useless at this time. I filed a complaint about "robo calls" with my state and was informed that these calls don't even originate in this country - they originate overseas now. Most if not all of the 50 states are now involved in a class action suit against these sleaze balls. In the mean time, if they are calling your cell and it's an Android, download an app called Phone Warrior. Good app. If it's your landline, use what ever procedures they have to block these calls and keep bugging them to allow an unlimited number of calls to be blocked.
