Received call 3/27/17 at 3 PM Eastern standard time. Caller was a woman with accent said she was calling about windows 10 and someone was trying to hack my computer.
Caller said he was from Microsoft. I said this is an unsolicited call and the guy immediately goes off, insulting me with lots of cursing and threatening me with violence. I told him he was a criminal and I'd be reporting him, and he agreed that he is a criminal before I hung up and blocked the number.
Same here...Microsoft, says someone trying to hack my computer. I rarely use my laptop so it hadn't even been connected so I knew it was a scam. Hung up on them and called the number back...says the number is disconnected. They've also called my work with the same spill. Would it do any good to call the police and drier the number as a scam?
Claimed to be Microsoft calling about my computer being hacked. I asked them who I was and they butchered the pronunciation of my last name. He said he'd transfer me to his supervisor. Sounded like he handed a phone to someone, not a transfer. The next guy barely spoke English, and started talking about my Gmail account. Microsoft isn't affiliated with Gmail. So I hung up. Clearly a scam.
