The message that came to me was:

Orange County's best Halloween party this Saturday at the OC Fairgrounds, from the creators of the legendary Atrium Hotel. This is So Cal's only 21+ mega event.

I have no idea who this is, but the phone number that came up on caller id was: 1 (310) 694-1413.

I have received those text message before but always deleted them.  I did however get one today, "Orange County's best Halloween Party this Saturday at the OC Fairgrounds, from the creators of the legendary Atrium Hotel.  This is So. Cal's only 21+ mega event."  I would consider that to be legitimate.  There is a National Do not call list for Cell Phones.  I don't know the website address though.

Who gave them permission to send me txt? Orange County's best Halloween party this Saturday at the OC Fairgrounds, from the creators of the legendary Atrium Hotel. This is So Cal's only 21+ mega event.
