It was an automated message saying they'd update our Google Plus listing. Went through to a human (Mike), who asked my name, then hung up when I asked what company he was with.
Automated message that claimed I urgently needed to validate/confirm a Google Plus listing (presumably a business listing of some sort?). Really made me angry because the message made it seem like it was Google calling at first, and I'm a web developer w/ tons of Google accounts for clients, so this caught my attention. But then they said "Press 1 to hear about our website building services and SEO solutions, or press 2 to be removed from this list," or something similar to that. Hopefully by pressing 2 I was taken off the list, but I'm not confident about that.
Definitely the worst of the worst type of auto-caller because of the way they let you believe they're affiliated with Google at the very beginning of the call. These people are probably committing fraud of some sort and should be fined and then flogged and then something worse.
It started out as a Google Plus robo-caller saying I need to verify my business information, and that I should . My scam sensors were tingling, but I pressed 1 to speak to a representative. He started by asking for my name, to which I replied that before I give any personal information, I'd like to verify that he was indeed a representative for Google. Upon my request, the guy immediately hung up.
Obvious scam. I just wish that there were a way to report people like this to the authorities.
Got a call and pressed 1 to get to a live person. As soon as I got to her she said, "My name is Lisa Ann, who am I speaking with?" I gave her my name and asked what company she was with and she hung up. If you call this number back it is a robot asking you to press 1 to be placed on their DNC list.
