Yep. The. Rudest. [***]. Ever. Well... maybe not ever, but up there for sure. I got the Robo call and the woman answered and when I asked her what the name of her company was she wouldn't tell me. She said that she could get my website in top placement on Google+, Bing and Yelp! -- and this was the most hilarious part -- she said, "How would you like to be at the top of Search for all of those search engines for less than money than your competitors pay? For example, like Massage Envy Spa Glendale?" And this is SO weird, because I have done marketing and PR for the owners of that clinic since 2/10. So I said that to her and I asked if the [owner's name] had referred her to me. And I asked again for the name of her company which she wouldn't provide. Then she said, "Well, we wouldn't want to work with you anyway and I guess you really think you know what you're doing since Massage Envy Spa is everywhere. You're probably in violation with Google SEO laws." And then she hung up. I don't even do their SEO, because frankly, I don't believe in it. We do content creation, events, media buying, media relations and we generate higher placement organically. I know that my client does do a lot with an SEO company, and I am aware of that. But I believe in doing things a bit differently. HOW WEIRD though, right? I guess it's just a coincidence. LOL Also, funny that she would say that they might be my competition when our website clearly shows exactly what we do in great detail -- and it isn't massage or facials. What a weird crabby lady.
Claimed to be representing Google Business--I don't have a business. I let the call go through and told the person to take me off the call list and he promptly hung up on me, with quite a bit of force. Very rude.
I waited with the press 1 crap and then asked the woman if she was calling from Google in Cupertino. She said they never talk to anyone, but her company was a provider and that I was at risk of losing my Google Plus account. I asked which one, since I manage multiple for clients and she got really angry. I said take me off your call list and she yelled at me, "fine, so you want to be taken off Google, I'm gonna do that right now."
