This afternoon, at 3:15, I got a call from 310-734-5673 on June 5, 2014. I did not answer the phone and the caller did not leave a message. It's annoying because I have to stop what I'm doing, get up and walk to the phone to look at the caller ID and then decide if I want to answer the call. My caller ID said, "Out of area," which tells me nothing.
The air horn thing is a very, very bad idea. This can cause permanent hearing damage and I have personal knowledge, from working collections for a major carrier in the past, of an instance where this was actually sent to the local authorities and prosecuted for some sort of assault and then went to a civil trial. The horn blower lost a civil suit over it, with lawyers paid for by our employer, and ended up with a low level criminal conviction from the criminal trial and about 30k in judgments from the civil trial.
I am not going to name the company specifically, but I will say that it is one of AT&Ts main competitors, and it is one that does not have that nice fancy phone from apple.
As much as you might hate these people, keep in mind that they are just doing their jobs. It is not their fault if their management is shady or of tech screws up the dialer.
Also, understand that there are certain types of phone calls that are exempt from the Do-not-call Registry. In particular, political surveys and certain types of fundraisers are exempt, as well as any company that you have a 'preexisting business relationship' with or have authorized phone calls in any way.
If you actually connect with a person, the only way that you will be taken off of the registry is generally by telling them that you do not wish to receive future calls and to please remove you from any calling list. Just hanging up does not cut it, nor does screaming a vulgarity and slamming the phone. If you do not say the words, you will not be flagged for removal from the autodialer.
so i recently fell behind on my verizon bill and they started blowing up my phone for payment i never answered just let it ring. if they turned it off after 9 years for being a month beind guess they will loose my buisness, but any how that just leads to my point they (verizon) obviousley sold our #s out to the first head hunting collection agent they could find witch so happens to be in the same state and town that verizon was calling me from? might just be a consperacy theory but its the first new# since i paid them? sorry about the spelling but you get what I am saying
