Calls and says I am being sued by an unnamed company. Says his name is Mark Murphy in a thick indian accent. He has my address, my work address, and my social security number. When I start asking questions, like who is the company and why, he hangs up on me! So I call him back, and he asks why I'm bothering him! Thinking about calling the police and reporting this...
got a call today saying they will sue me because we didnt pay for a loan look my wife works for pnc bank I have all bank statements and if they do sue I will be counter suing for everything they got please dont call again
I received the same phone call to my cell phone and my home phone beginning on Wednesday, February 17. The man who left the message spoke in a strong Indian accent and left a message saying that I needed to contact them as soon as possible. He also tried calling my cell phone. On Wednesday when I first listened to the message on the home answering machine, I kept replaying the message because I couldn't understand what the man was saying. The contact number that he left me was (310) 803-5849 the original number they called from was 714-006-6000 which is an automated fake phone number. They were really rude when I called back. I asked him what it was about and he proceeded to tell me that I had a pay day loan with some company. He said that the company was suing me and that I needed to get a lawyer. When I asked about who was suing me all he would say is that he could not divulge that information, he chuckled and asked if we had a lawyer. He said that they were going to try to bring criminal charges against me for fraud and when I asked to speak to his supervisor he promptly hung up. When I got home from work I told my husband and he tried to call them. They answered the phone and said that the guys name was Paul Exetor an attorney and said they would transfer me. When the woman transferred me I heard her press two buttons and the line stayed on and I could hear them still on the phone. This is a scam and everyone should be aware.------Ruston, La
They called MY WORK and told me they are from instant cash and I am being sued for 5454.57. The guys name is David Hanson and they all had HEAVY indian accents I could hardly understand any of them. After he explained everything (mind you they have my employer id, ssn, and account numbers!) I started asking questions and said this doesn't sound legit and Im not paying one cent he hung up on me. I called back and asked for him, the guy said I cant speak with him and there isnt anything else they can tell me. I told them I work for a bank and I am reporting them. They hung up on me again. What a scam.
