Calls and says I am being sued by an unnamed company. Says his name is Mark Murphy in a thick indian accent. He has my address, my work address, and my social security number. When I start asking questions, like who is the company and why, he hangs up on me! So I call him back, and he asks why I'm bothering him! Thinking about calling the police and reporting this...
I received a call from a Charles Hall at this number he stated there are legal charges against my name and social security number. Talked to him for a while and he said that I would have to pay court costs of over $5,000. and I would have to come to the court house. I asked what court house was he talking about and he said the one in California, I immediately stated that was clear across the US and how was I to afford that. He said he didn't think I was taking this matter serriously and that on Monday morning they would be at my work place to serve me papers and arrest me since I have taken a payday loan with one on the over 300 companies he represents and I never paid it back. I asked him what company it was again and he said Insta Cash. He then said other things and said I am not serious about this matter and hung up on me. I called him back later on and explained that I did not want to end up in jail and after he had me very upset he said I am sorry and there is no need to get upset I said if this happened to you how would you feel. He then offered to call Insta Cash and see if he could help me work something out with them, and put me on hold for about 10 minutes. He then came back to the phone and said he talked to them and they would take two payments or if I sent them a fax with a credit card on the for $545 they would drop a $200 service fee off of it. I then replied that I did not have that kind of money and he said are you sure you are taking this matter seriously. He then said to fax him a credit card number for $745 to the attention of Paul Ekster. The whole time I was taking to this man I kept telling him I could not understand due to his accent. On the fax that he wanted me to send I was to write Attention: Paul Ekster Subject: Credit Card Payment authorization I, my name authorize Insta Cash to charge the listed credit card belonging to my name, card Number, and exp. date, and the security code. I, my name authorize this payment and I assure I will not dispute this transaction. Then I was told I had to sign this and get it notorized and send a copy of my drivers liscense. After thinking on this matter all day I was very upset and thought about searching this number of 1-310-803-5849 now to see that this has happened to alot of people. We all need to get together and stop this.
Its now a Don Rosen doing this scam.i have called instacash and they never got back to me,This is a scam,ITS NOT INSTACASH LEGAL DEPT.PAUL EKSTER IS AN ATTOURNEY THAT WORKS IN NC,THIS MAN IS USING HIS NAME,WE NEED TO SHUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN
I received a phone call from a Mike Smith from McGougan law firm saying I owed "instacash" $5484.87 and it needed to be paid today or else they would fax an affidavit to my employer and they "would know what i did". After googling the Phone number and Mike Smith from Mcgougan law firm I emailed and called the Law firm speaking with a very nice receptionist who informed me there is a Mike Smith who is an attorney there but is there occasionally and would NEVER be trying to collect a debt over the phone. I also received an email from Ken R. Moss at the lawfirm who also said tehy do not have any pendign cases in my name nor would they ever try to collect a debt over the phone. He then gave me the name and number to a detective in California, whom i called and found out I was a victim of Identity theft. The detective told me NOT TO PAY THESE PEOPLE NO MATTER WHAT and to close my bank acocunt ASAP and sign up for an Identity Theft Program. He also said to write a letter and fax or mail it to his attention to be put on the list of victims from this "company". Hope this helps everytone who also received these phone calls.
