I got called from this number, and the CID said it was from Hermosa Beach. The guy said his Dad owns a home improvement company and they wanted to know if I needed any work done. I said no and hung up. He called right back under a different phone ID number. I answered the phone and the guy was mad I hung up. The new phone number was: 244-400-0000. The CID said it was an unknown name. They obviously have many different numbers they can say they are calling from, all false.
I have received numerous calls but have not answered them and they do not leave messages. I answered today and it was a woman that called me by name and identified herself as Jane. She said her husband is a contractor and they were going to be in my area (knew the street I lived on) and wanted to know if I needed any work done so they could stop by and provide a free estimate.
Unsettling that they have my name, phone number and obviously know where I live. How does this crap happen when you pay the phone company to have a non-published number? I too am on the FCC do not call list which helps some but definitely not all.
said he was giving home repair estimates in the area. asked what we would like to have done. told him nothing and asked to be removed from the calling list.
