Definitely the same group. Corporate Acquisitions from Colorado. They use GotVMail.com which provides local numbers around the country. Makes them look like they are from Western Mass. Call the number and you will get a voice message and a long list of voice mail boxes for all the people at Corporate Acquisitions.
Got the call and met with their local business analyst. Total scam -- they operate the same way Allliance Acquisitions does - see http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/222/RipOff0222111.htm.
The wanted $8000 for a "business evaluation" that they say will be refunded in a year if they do not sell your business. But read the contract - they are only obligated to "introduce" you to a "qualified" buyer or investor who is "interested" in your business. Very different from actually presenting a buyer who actually makes an offer for your business.
OK, got the same call as everyone else, except a message was left on my answering machine.
I am in the Commercial Real Estate business and am always getting calls from site location people, so I wasn't suspicious, initially.
Googled Corporate Acquisition Group, Chicago, Il, and couldn't find anything. I then Googled the phone number left on my machine, where I found this site.
Ya know, it's hard enough to make a living without dealing with these types of fools. I'll be emailing the Missouri Attorney General's Office in Missouri, shortly.
Oh, and BTW, in Missouri a real estate broker is prohibited from selling a business.(for a fee) There is no such thing as a "business broker" in our state.
