Now they are calling from 213 550 3111. To my cell phone. Nobody but family has that number. I keep answering it. Third time's the winner! I ain't answering no more! Idiots! My phone's in the do not call registry as well.
Got the call this evening 02/06/12, heard the offer for taking a political poll that would take 30 seconds, before I could respond, my second secondhand landline phone disconnected the call.
I played the game a bit to see what would happen. It's the same deal others have described -- they call, give you a ridiculously short, automated three question "political poll", tell you that you will get a free cruise as a reward, then transfer you to someone who does a ridiculously-over-the-top sales pitch about a cruise on "Carribean Cruise Lines."
In the end, you need to provide your credit card number to get the "free" offer. At best, they're using a pushy sales tactic to sell cut-rate cruises, and at worst they are running a scam to get credit card numbers. Stay away!
(FWIW, they claim to be representing http://www.politicalopinionsofamerica.org/ and/or http://www.caribbeancl.com/ They called me from 502-632-4314, but it was the same scam.)
Politcal Opinions of America They ask to take an automated survey, then offer to a free cruise for taking the survey. transfer you to live person, who offers a free cruise from a Celebration Cruise Line, whole presentation , all amenities except gov port tax....which needs to be paid now....I declined, the call abruptly ended. looked online found Celebration Cruise Line , spoke to their customer service, and they varified that companies buy rooms and give them out for promotions.. its sounds legit, but I didnt do it, jsut sharing what I found out
Is there any way to get off the caling list because thhis is driving me crazy! The last call was from another number as well, and the number was 202-599-8535 trying to get me to vote for a certain Republican nominee that I was not interested in!!
