Call from this number on my cell; I know 312 is Chicago area code and I was expecting a call from a friend who's there for a couple of days, so I answered. It's a recorded message about raising my electric rates in January. Hung up. Another scam.
Call came in today From 312 340 5562 Caller Id: Member Services:
with a recorded message saying
"Due to Changes in Federal guidelines, You May be eligible for a special rate plan for your ComEd services. Press 5 to hear what plan you may be eligible for."
I pressed 5 thinking this was ComEd. I was Placed on hold, for a couple minutes, then I hear a click and then just an open line, with some static, and a very large group of people talking in a very crowded room, like a Call center. All of the voices had very thick Indian accents.
After a few Hello-Hellos with no response, I hung up: That is when my phone rang back, and the number displayed came up as
609 227 4829 Caller ID: Unavailable
It sounded like the same room, I had just disconnected from: this time was a woman with an accent, claiming to be an "Energy Consultant".
I asked her why her recorded message claims to be ComEd?
At this point, I informed her I was on the Do Not Call List, and I would be reporting this call, along with her other call back number, and that I thought this was a Fraud/scam.
I threw an F-bomb in with the sentence "Do Not ******* Call me again!".
