Easy, The DNC like any other law works only if it is enforced. The FTC is in charge of enforcing this law. We do our part by reporting this violations but the FTC finds it easier to just file them away. We taxpayers are paying the FTC to just be a filing system.
We need to write to all of our US senators and ask them to hold hearing to hold the FTC accountable. Also ask them to bring witnesses to testify abut how this telemarketers are invading our homes and harassing our families while the people in charge of protecting us from this are making the easy money by just filing. I am doing this right now.
The FTC has received over two million complaints since January; yet, they have not given us any relief for this telemarketers.
It is good to come to this site to vent our frustration over the lack of enforcement but if we want to stop this, we must put feet to our complaints an ask the Senators to help us.
Finally beat them. They were trying to "reduce my auto insurance", so I told them I just had my 3rd DWI last month and my license had been revoked. Haven't been called back since. Give that a try.
Counted 32 calls within 24 hours, finally answered...guy on the other end of the line says he's looking for someone named Nadu Hariset, started to politely explain there's no one named that here and this jerk hangs up on me mid sentence. Called back to rip these guys a new one and no answer. If only there was a way to send a bomb through the phone :)
this number has called my cell phone 8 times in 4 hours. clearly they are violating the law. like the peeps above say...a law not enforced is no law at all.
more than likely this is some offshore group with spoofed phone numbers. it is very hard to find these people. the telephone carriers can see when a call comes from a number that wont be answered, but calling this number back gets the dumb message "press 1 to be removed." good luck.
i have not seeen much investigation into the cell phone companies who provide carriage. mine is AT&T. are these calls evenly divided among the cell carriers or not?
