I get calls from this number and ignore them.
Have entered the name "DO NOT ANSWER!" in my cellphone, which takes calls switched from my home phone.
Another tactic when I am called from a solicitor.
I play the role of stalker and ask, "What are you wearing?"
If they describe innocuous outer clothing, "No. I meant what are you wearing under that?"
One woman told me I couldn't talk to her like that but I reminded her that she had called ME.
Just act real friendly and swarmy and see if you can get under their skin.
Yes - my phone rang but they hung up before I could answer and didn't leave a message. Caller id said 312-465-1104 and yet when I called back a recording said it was "ESG Research Group" and they wanted my opinion on our debt crisis and then it prompted me to press numbers. Since it wasn't a live person on the other end, I thought the better of it and hung up. They're bugging me on Sunday afternoon, besides.
I think the "Do Not Call" list was for a certain number of years. It expired, so they can bug us again. I know people need to make a living and I used to be in sales, so I have a certain amount of patience and empathy, but hanging up without leaving a message and/or using a machine to call takes a lot of nerve.
No. The Do Not Call List was changed to NOT expire. So that's not the problem.
In my case, this is a collections agency. Some... person... gave out my work number as their personal number. Now they collections people keep calling to try to contact him.
ESG Research Group calling about a survey on the Nation's debt crisis. If you do the survey, you get a free cruise to the Bahamas. Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha - yea, right! Obviously a scam. I hung up and called back; and of course, the number was busy.
