I remember the good old days - if the phone rang, it was "Be very polite - it may be someone important" Now it's - don't touch that phone until you check caller ID. I'm trying to get a class reunion together and locate fellow GIs that I served with years ago. Always have to check numbers before responding adding to the hassle.
I remember back in the good old days when our phone rang it was legitimate!!!!!! No telemarketing --- no scammers --- etc. If a law was put in place whereby ALL robot calls ALL scammer calls ALL telemarketing calls were investigated and faced prison time and HUGE fines - it would stop. I feel for the people who either choose or can't afford CID --- not knowing who is on the other end of their call. Lets get rid of the "lifers" in Congress and get young blood in there and just maybe we would see something positive (for a change) and our phones serve their original purpose.
