This is a scam, they try scaring you into thinking they are the IRS and if you don't pay back taxes they will come to your home and arrest you. They somehow get your address, but when I asked them for an 800# to compare it with IRS website they hung up. Don't fall for it!
The message stated that it was from Jeff Adams officer of the tax department Canada Revenue Service 1-800-267-6999, that a lawsuit had been taken out against me and that before any action will be taken call 312-473-2731 Chicago, Illinois. They appear to be spoofing the information number for The CRA or Canada Revenue Service as this is what appeared on the caller ID.
Please be aware of this fraud and report it to your state, provincial and federal police. Always call back the actual company or government agency to verify the validity of any calls, never use the numbers given by these fraud artists.
