I don't know anyone in Chicago so I don't answer and then put the number in my reject list. If it someone important or something important they would or should leave a voice mail message and I will call them back.
After further research I have found out more about this number--it and many like it are actually Magic Jacks that are being used by overseas criminals trying to appear as if they are in the U.S.A. My guess is they probably have U.S.-based contacts that buy the Magic Jacks in bulk and ship them overseas so as to outsource the scams. This reflects very poorly on Magic Jack (a.k.a. YMAX Communications) since anyone can buy a Magic Jack without proper personal identification.
am tied of getting calls from this number, they just keep calling..do not know anyone in Chicago area
And have called all my creditors and they do not know whom this is..I have been on the no call system. And still get bothered
If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
Same thing here. Blocked the call and he keeps trying to call. Read my address off to me. Said he was on his way over. Well I'm locked and loaded waiting.
