Called by 312-509-9757 with caller id "Chicago, IL". I do not answer callers that do not clearly identify themselves. Their robot left a recorded message ending with "For a free no obligation consultation. Press two to be removed from our list. Thanks and have a great day."
This number called our company today at 1015 hours. Caller ID said "Chicago, IL" so I suspected it was yet another spammer/scammer. When I answered an idiot-recording began, "Hello! This is Alex!" and then prattled on about lending capital to businesses. At that point, I slammed the phone back down. We constantly get these b.s. calls from strangers offering to "lend" us money. Right. I'm really going to borrow money for a loan that we don't need from people I don't know, who cold call us and don't even use a company name at the beginning of their idiot-recording. Hold your breath for that one, spammer/scammers.
They called, I answered, but was not answered back. I did some research and have found that many companies will outsource their call centers to India but will feed the line from India through a US phone number. Half of the time these calls only show a US number on the ID but are really coming from places like India where they have been outsourced. This accounts for the long pauses, bad connections, and no answers on these calls.
