I got a call from this number. A recording said "This is Hugh Hogan. If this is ( my name), please call such and such number. If it is not ( my name), disconnect."
I have no idea who Hugh Hogan in the next state, (Iliinois) is so I hung up.
They should have provided more information on who 'Hugh Hogan" is and why 'he' was calling.
The number traces to Chicago, but noplace I looked online tells me who it might be or why he would call me.
Ok, you are right - it's Harris & Harris. I didn't input the numbers accurately. The 312 number calls I get are usually downtown survey for political candidates.
If you are annoyed by these because you do not owe anyone anything to your recollection (no pun intended) definitely take a look at your credit report for MEDICAL bills. usually these are the bills that sneak right by, right down to ER services. I did have a Hamilton bill collector call me and I argued w/these people til the cows came home and they ended up being right. The medical billing industry is sadistic - they do not care about anything except data input and the minute the day comes when it's out of their hands, these bill collectors will haunt you - and I WAS in that situation. I made a very very bad mistake, and hopefully those reading this will learn from my mistake. If you pay a bill through ANY service like this make CERTAIN you get 'the letter of full payment' because they do not always record the 'final pay off' to the debt center (hospital usually or those 'buy now pay in two years' credit opportunities (usually furniture stores) The letter of payment is the single most important and ONLY documentation that you paid. My husband and I were so badly damaged by the lack of this letter that we ended up paying a 3,000.00 bill TWICE - otherwise the credit was going to get whacked down, and no one in our nation can afford for that to happen especialy now - so anyone reading this, learn from our mistake so that you do not make it in the first place. If you are paying a collection agency for any reason, get the letter and haunt them until you do - have them email it WHILE you're making your last payment - speak to a supervisor - WHILE you're making that last payment otherwise you'll end up in the same mess we were in and broker down the line - Sorry for rambling. I care a great deal about my fellow citizens. So the best thing to do is pay our bills on time, but for those hard times when we end up in situations where these numbers are calling us - get the letter - GET THAT LETTER... ok... I'm done... I keep getting this call also. I do not owe anyone anything. No "buy now pay later" or doctor/hospital bills whatsoever. I am unsure as to why they keep calling me, but it started this past Monday and has continued every day since. I have had no voicemails left, but I did decide to call back today and it says that it is Harris and Harris. I wonder how they get your cell phone number in the first place.
Sent these scumbags of Harris and Harris a cease and desist letter over 30 days ago. Have had no less than 5 phone calls since (and always while I am out so I get to listen to that long annoying computerized voicemail).
Today I got to talk to an actual person. I was polite and she was as well and was to note in the computer to stop calling. Funny though, she was quick to rush to the end of the call right after that, almost as if she knew she was doing something wrong.
And I always get the callback name of "Helen Hamilton" or "Harry Hoover", noting the "HH" of another poster.
