A male speaking broken English trying to advise that my name and number was selected to receive some kind of grant. I told him I did not apply for any grant and his call sounded like a scam. I hung up before he could attempt a response. I am furious because I am on Do Not Call List well over the 30-day waiting period.
The caller stated he was from the US Government calling from Washington DC even though this number showed up as Chicago, IL number. He said that he needed to speak to me do to something about the US Government. I told him to take my name off his list...I'm on the DNC list, he kept saying he is the US Government from Washington DC and this is official business
Garden variety Indian or Pakistani grant/loan scam. They ignore all US laws. Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.
