Any calls you receive from (312) 759-5298 or (312) 759-2474 are about The National Immunization Survey (NIS). This survey is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a federal agency of the U.S. government, and is conducted by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago.
This important national survey is intended to improve the health of Americans by collecting information about childhood, adolescent, and adult immunizations. The information collected helps identify communities or areas needing additional resources for immunization programs.
You can access additional information about the NIS at www.cdc.gov/nis and about NORC at www.norc.org. Your questions can be addressed to CDC by calling toll-free (800) 232-4636 or sending an email using the link http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/about/contact/nipinfo_contact_form.htm.
The National Do Not Call List does not apply to public health research, so it does not apply to the NIS. If you have concerns about being on the NIS calling list, please call toll-free (866) 999-3340.
Seems like they call us phishing to see when we're home. There is always a rush of static on our answering machine and it hangs up, and on the two occassions before we got wise and answered ourselves, it did that too.
