They called asking for my dead ex-husband wanting donation for some kind of cancer company. I asked really? Can I please speak to a human being? And they just hung up. I called back to speak to customer service rep, she told me its the annual dri e to raise money for veterans. She said she'd remove my number from their list.
This number called the office and the boss answered. Whomever called solicited for funds because i overheard the boss say she had already given her amount for the year. Once she hung up, i told her the better thing to say is that she won't donate to anyone calling over the phone and ask them to stop calling.
It was Carl ???? from Vets Now. It was obviously an interactive recording as it started spewing a bunch of information.. I tried breaking into his speech and he didn't miss a beat. I tried pressing 0 and that seem to work to confuse him. He kept saying Hello! Are you still there? and eventually disconnected. They appear to be a legitimate non-profit so I tried asking them to stop calling before as they were calling daily. They acknowledged the request and actually stopped calling for about a month but I guess they've run out of people to call so they started again. No problem with helping vets but due to all the scams around I don't over the phone.
