I got this same call TWICE today. I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. They left a message stating that same thing about my daughter. Do NOT respond.
Agreed, these jokers tried to call me this past Friday and started rattling off a bunch of felony charges against me and that I was recorded either via video surveillance or electronic methods and said that I owed 900 on a payday loan from over a year ago. I asked them for a return address and they refused to provide that. I asked that they email me documenation of such charges, they sent a letter someone typed up and was not even a validation notice with the proper wording. These people are scammers. After further research, I found out that the payday loan company is not out of business. It was The Cash Line. This is ridiculous. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFO OR MONEY!!!
I forgot to add that the lady's name was investigator Investigator Hawkins from Sheffield and Baker. Their number is 312-912-7376. Her full name was Tamika Hawkins. Ridiculous!
I was at work today and my older sister kept calling me and texting me, she said that an Investigator Hawkins with the Bank Fraud and Worthless Check Division wanted to talk to me to see if the situation could be rectified to avoid a warrant being issued for my arrest. My sister said she gave her my cell # but for it being so urgent she didn't call me so I called her as soon as I got out of work. Well she said there are pending felony charges against me for Malicious Fraud, Larceny, and something else, she told me my SSN# and said that there is video surveillance and my signature that can be used against me as evidence. She said the company in regards to is Checkmate and the check was done 11/2009. I did have a payday loan but payday loans have since been shut down and outlawed in the State of ARIZONA. The Hawkins lady said that she is the mediator for Checkmate and if I pay $700 in 24 hours all legal proceedings will stop. I naturally freaked out so I called my attorney, I filed bankruptcy last year so any monies owed prior to.my.discharge date are null and void. My attorney told me it is a scam and to not give them a dime. I gave her this number and reference number I was given and she said she will call them and get to the bottom of this. She said even if there were charges against me hypothetically they would be thrown out because the payday loan happened before the bankruptcy was discharged. Thank God! Bankruptcy was the best thing I ever did!
There is no Amber. That posting is Cody's only way to still scam some. They post an email like that. Think about it why would "Amber" care to write that stuiff even if it were true.
I beg "Cody" to call me back. His exact words over six months ago were "I am done with you". He is done with me because he hears in my voice how I know so well he is a scammer.
