You do realize that the payday loan places (who are all run by criminals) sold your information to other criminals so that they could extort you. Read CWG40's and Alfalfa's posts.
Unless they send you a written Debt Validation Notification that complies with all requirements of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act via US Mail, do not have anything to do with them. If necessary, send them a Cease Communications letter via US Mail, Certified, Return Receipt keeping a notarized copy for your records. If you were scammed once, others will try the same thing. Unless they can prove you owe the debt and they have the legal right to collect in your state, you do not have to even talk to them.
What if they refuse to give you their address? I have proof that I paid this debt two years ago and I can't get anyone to give me a fax number or address so I can send them proof of payment. I also can't find them on the Internet.
These same people called me I think their name was legal services or something like that, they called me and I hung up on them about almost a month ago, last week I received a garnishment fax to my employer to start garnishment on my paychecks can anyone help me out?? They are trying to take 25% of my paychecks for something Im pretty sure I took care of. Can they do this?! I need help?????
Ron, your post is very vague. So I have a few questions for you
Do you have a judgement against you? How did they start garnishment without a judgement? If there was paperwork faxed to your employer, then what is the name of the entity that sent it? I would suspect you would know if you are so upset about this
