Well today ( February 26,2015) was my turn to be contacted concerning " an important message concerning a legal matter involving my social security number" . When I called the number I received a voice mail recording that wouldn't let me leave a message ( guess they knew what I had to say). Does anyone know what their deal is ?
Multiple calls with same voicemail left on my cell phone:
"Hi, this is Deborah Smith with (unintelligible) service. We've been retained to process legal paperwork under your name and Social Security numbe. This is a very important legal matter. Please contact our office at 312 971 6238"
I then called back and blocked my number and receive "the number you have dialed is not in service"... I called back unblocked and it rang 5 times then the message stated "The person at extension 2522 is not available please leave your message after the tone ."
This is quite similar to another call I've gotten: official sounding, but with nothing directly identifying me as the recipient. SPAM!
To state it nicely, anyone calling and wanting a SS# is none of their beez-wax. My phone is for me to call friends and family members or 911. I figure if there is a legal matter that I need to be made aware of, a policeman or someone of a legitimate source will ring my door bell. Don't let your curiosity get the best of you. It's all part of the time in which we live in. For every hour we sleep, there are a string of "crooks" spending the same trying to scam you. If it were possible to Teleslap someone Ka-Pow !!!... How do you like those apples?
Thanks for the postings. I have also received the same message. These low-lifes just don't give up. No matter how many numbers you block on your phone, they get new ones. I wish they would try and get real jobs and just stop trying to scam people out of their hard earned money. They are all scammers.
