this stems from a "CASH JAR" transaction from at least five years ago! I borrowed $800.00 and they took about $2500.00 out of my checking! my bank advised me to close the account.
They are now calling my work,references from Cash Jar. As I researched this it appears to be a debt collector and they are trying to get me to commit to pay a debt that was well over paid. How can they call and threaten my job,friends? there is some WARNING FROM,"Consumer Financial Protection Bureau",they are claiming to be Navicore, which has just changed from nova debt.SO BE CAREFUL AND CALL THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU.Anyn advice?
Received a voicemail stating that a criminal complaint was to be filed on me unless I called a Ms. Bryce at this number. My caller ID showed up as the fax number for my local circuit clerk's office. The caller claimed to be calling from my county. Yeah, NOPE!
I received a call from a fax machine from my county clerks office as well telling me to call a Ms. Bryce.
I dont understand how they can use a phone on my caller id. Ms. Bryce convinced me to give her my bank info which i did. Big Mistake!!!
I closed account and learned my lesson.
Did you know it is illegal to spoof a phone number of government or law enforcement?? Contact your state attorney general with the information. You could also inform your county of the illegal use of their number. The caller has nothing to go with the county - just a thief trying to steal your money.
