12/08/16 9:31 PST Another in the endless series of Tax Help Center calls. They keep changing the number, but keeping ID. Do they really think people will suddenly decide to answer because it is coming from a different number? Will be adding this one to blocked list.
Tax relief scam. Press 1 to talk to a representative (criminal). Scary part is their Caller ID read "Tax help Center", which suggests they're working with a sleazy telecom company that's let them write their own CNAM data (or else there really is a tax help center at this number and these crooks are spoofing it).
People it's really simple. If you have a tax issue may it be Federal, State or Local you will be notified by mail only. Reason being by mail is to have a physical paper trail to support any evidence that effort was made to contact you in case legal action is needed against you. Phone calls, text messages and e-mails are not considered proper notification. If you are getting calls about tax issues it's a scam. Do not answer.and if you do don't give out any information to them.
