616-980-2782 & 313-263-2663 = both from Michigan...probably same company...
I'm sure we all get the same calls from same company using different numbers/area codes, etc., different company names, anything to get out money.
I got a call from this number 313-263-2663. This is the 2nd time they have called me.
They were calling with the promise of lowering my credit card down to 1% interest. When I questioned them as to where they were and what company they were from, they said they could only help me if i had atleast 500 dollars avail on one of my credit cards. They claim to be able to lower your interest but need to "verify" that you are in good staanding with at least one card, that is the card they will lower the interst on etc.... . When i further questioned them then hung up
Received a phone call from this number stating, like the above reports, that they are from "Cardholder Services" and want to offer me lower APR's on my existing credit card debt. This is probably the 4th time this month that I have received this phone call. I pressed "1" to connect to someone. It rang 5 times, then was answered by a male asking if I wanted to save money on high-interest credit cards. I explained that I wanted to be removed from the list in order to stop receiving calls and was promptly hung up on.
I called the number back and received this recorded message: "The number that you have dialed is unallocated."
These calls are not anything new. I've received numerous calls wanting to reduce my rate. Without getting any information from them, I've if they want to pay me. I don't have any debt, so how can they lower the rate? Usually they just hang up. And if I receive more than about two calls (I have caller ID), I'll take the number to the sheriff's office and let him handle it. Usually, no more calls. Someone commented about the "Do Not Call Registry." When was the last time you heard about a telemarketer being prosecuted for not paying attentinon to the do not call list? What a joke!!Get called ID for your phone and ignore any call that you do not recognize.
