CLID says "Customer SVC" but they only left a blank message on the machine. Leave me a message saying who you are and why you are calling, or I won't answer the next time you call either.
No message left. caller id says : customer service. scammer.
I wish FTC or FBI would shut these scammers down by cracking down on the 'Magic Jack' type of VOIP providers who will allow their subscribers to program the caller ID to say whatever one wants. IRS, customer service, FBI etc etc.
Congress passed a law making caller id 'spoofing' illegal but that has not stopped these scammers to continue to spoof caller id posing themselves as IRS or other entities. AT&T, Verizon and all major phone service providers should be required to say in caller id which service provider the call is coming from (i.e. magic jack, Vonage....etc etc). That way atleast one would know that if the caller ID says 'IRS' from magic jack then one knows it is fake caller id.
It is amazing how 0.0000001 % of the world population (scammers/hackers/ID theives) can create such a nuisance for billions of law abiding people. Many of these scammers are successful in stealing serious ammount of money and stealing ID.
It is about time FTC and law enforcement agencies shut them down. It has gone on for too many years.
