STAY AWAY! They called from the supposed "Internal Revenue Service" after 5 pm from a woman who could barely speak English. The landline is not under my name but they asked for me, which was surprising. She said there was a case against me and I needed to pay up. When I asked to verifiy herr emplyoee ID, she hung up on me! I called back and got a voicemail greeting with a heavy Indian accent saying "Thank you for calling the Internal Revenue Service. We are unable to answer your call right now. Pelase leave your name and number and we will get back to you." I kept calling back and the guy from the vm greeting answered. I asked for the physical business address so that I can verify it was legit and he hung up on me.
My secretary told me the IRS was on the phone and that an " officer" had to speak to me because I was being investigated. Woman who represented herself as an officer in a heavy Indian accent advised me that I was being investigated, and had I had any contact with the police? I questioned her credibility as the government does not operate at this level, and was told she would connect me with her supervisor, and then < click >
