Received a call from this number. The man on the phone spoke with a heavy accent and kept telling me not to interrupt him when he is speaking. He was rude and told me they would notify my place of employment about the debt that I owe and that there will be an arrest warrant issued for me. He also asked if I have ever been "picked up" on fraud. I thought this to be a strange way to phrase this and of course answered no. He continued to be rude and continued to cut me off any time I would ask a question. I told him that i was done speaking to him and to transfer me to someone who would not be rude to me. He then said ok but do not argue with them. He transferred me and that guy was rude with an accent as well. I then asked him to send me a copy of the affidavit. He verified an email address he had on file and said he would send it and hung up. I have not received anything.
I received the same call. The man on the phone refused to give me any information and just kept threatening an arrest in the morning at my place of employment. ha! It is a scam. In order to have an arrest warrant you need to be served and that comes with an affidavit. They refused to supply me with that. Once you call their bluff they become rude and hostile. I was called vulgar names and threatened. I filed a police report and contacted my security at my place of employment, since it happened at work and on my work phone. These people are trying to use scare tactics to scam people out of money. If you goodle this phone number you will find others who have been through this as well and sometimes the amount owed is almost exactly the same. Be aware of this! They will change their number as well. So word of advice.... unless you KNOW you owe money and have completely VERIFIED who you are paying, DO NOT PAY!!!!
I've also received a call from a guy that couldn't speak English very well. I was threaten to pay up or go to jail. The number I have is 317-564-9505. These people has to be stop.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
Got a message from my place of employment that they had received a call from these people today. They haven't bothered calling my home or cell phones yet but they know that I'm not going to buy into what they're trying to perpetrate. I just flagged their number whenever they call to auto-forward to my local sheriffs department non-emergency call center number. That pretty well let them know not to [***] with me again. I haven't had a call in over six weeks since I started doing that.
