This is the number that shows up when Verizon is attempting to reach you about your billing account and payment is due. The fact that so many others have also reported receiving text messages immediately following not answering a call from this number telling them that payment is due on their accounts, or even past due, should be a clue right there. This is not a call from some "damn scammers," it's a call from someone to whom you legitimately owe money. Or at least the last owner of that number does.
They are not required to keep you informed on a day-to-day basis when your bill is due, that's your job to keep up with who you owe, how much, and when. The bill you get has a due date and amount on it, and that's all they're required to do. They could just shut off your line at the past due point, and continue to leave it up to you to reestablish service by paying the whole balance due plus reconnect charges. But, they have taken it upon themselves to chase you down and give you multiple opportunities to get it paid before they reach that point.
No, I don't work for them at all, in fact I don't work for anybody anymore. After 40+ years of steady employment, I am totally disabled, but still take care of my own bills. But, I am human like everyone else, and occasionally I miss a bill. However, if they call me and remind me of it, I don't get all bent out of shape and fuss about being called by "scammers" when they clearly are not. IF they have made a legitimate error, give them the same benefit of the doubt you apparently expect of them and call and talk to someone about what the problem is and fix it.
Now, the ones I DO get upset about are the ones who really are scammers, criminals and outright crooks, and I am ALL OVER the boards like these about them, to let folks know what they REALLY are up to. They are like roaches - turn on the lights to them and they scatter back under the woodwork from whence they came!!
robo called my cell phone. Then i transferred to a foreign call center "credit dept". Informed them that the call was being recorded for the Massachusetts Attorney Generals Office and then the POS on the phone started saying F___ You, F___ You.... and hung up. I encourage everybody to do the same to these scammer calls. If we all talk to them and waste their time, maybe the companies will get a clue, of not it is good therapy to get your frustrations out on these scammers!
