Called to one of our cell phones that is on the do not call list and is used as a private phone for our production staff. It's under a company name so they can not be looking for an individual. Also according to Federal Law, under the Do Not Call registry Act and the Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act, Calling a cellular number for solicitation of debt collection is illegal, and all legally compliant companies must subscribe every 31 days to the registry list for numbers not allowed to be called, including cell phone numbers. We do a syndicated Television and Radio Talk show, so these guys can expect to get a lot of publicity for their calling us and acting like they do. Same here. Someone calls my cell every day and night from this number, even very late evening hours & early morning hours: 319-242-7362. Never leaves a message, just violating my privacy & yours, so I know what you mean. I sent a text message with a warning of the illegal calls. We will just wait and see what happens. They also are very annoying. Who they are & what they want is unknown. If need be we will have them investigated and prosecuted together if it comes to that. No company name appears on my cell phone. If they think they are anonymous, then they need to think again. They can be traced, tracked and found by the proper authorities. Just hold on & don't let them frighten you! They probably are scammers, but companies have their employees call you as well & not leave a message. If they are trying to collect some unknown debt, what makes them think that they will receive any payment this way. Wrong way to collect any monies, so you are wasting your time & money paying someone to do this? What's the gain for them i don't know!
