Because you've answered numbers in the past in some way and you made a list of numbers known to have one. They love people who are known to answer the phone. That list does NOT stop all worthless calls, only honest, legitimate telemarketing. Give yourself a boost by completely ignoring unknown numbers. The list works for what it was meant to, not what it was not.
