Well Happy Wednesday morning. They have called my cell and office phone numbers again. It was Justin Simon again. Well, this is past annoying at this point. I have to agree with Eileen, this needs to be handle with some sort of class action suit, and the payday loan companies who have either sold our informatioin or been compromised should be held responsible. I am just not going to ever put my information in any forms online.
Going to complete the reports to the legal authorities now.
I have no idea what this number is yet they randomly call. Once I called back the number that they left on my voicemail and they demanded to talk to my lawyer and then told me that they were putting their 'lawyer' on the line... Their 'lawyer' got on and told me that i was facing some federal charge from the state of California for bouncing checks; though I never once wrote a check in the state of California or to any company in California... So I laughed and tried to tell this guy that I have physical proof that there is no way in hell that I bounced any kind of check, and he began to get irate with me. I hung up on him, and have not heard back from whatever this scam is until today; where I got the female leaving the message in very broken english, and again, not a mention of the name of the company that they represent! This is merely an annoyance now, but I am concerned that they have many people's names, information, and God forbid social security #'s....
Got a couple calls from them this morning. First message they left was in a man's voice but all it said was "this message is intended for" and my name. The second message was in what I think was a woman's voice but both these messages accents were very thick so it was hard to tell. This second message gave vague details about needing to talk to my lawyer about some "time sensitive" financial matter. The person warned me not to disregard the message and that if I did all she could do was "wish me luck" as it would be turned over to their legal department.
They talk in a loud voice so as to sound serious but something tells me that if I were in any sort of legal danger due to a financial matter, I would have gotten a court order in the mail some time ago. Certainly I wouldn't have gotten vague threats and warnings in a loud foreign voice; I know for a fact that's not how the legal system operates ;)
Just received a call from this number (320054348) which is not even a real phone number. Its probably one of those numbers used to 'mask' the real number because you can't call it back. Anyway, similar to the other two posts on here, I got a message from someone (a man) with a very thick foreign (perhaps middle eastern) accent.....I could hardly understand what he was saying. There was a lot of noise in the background and he was speaking very loudly. I didn't even listen to the full message as I know that this is a scam that has been going on for some time now. They call from many different numbers and one time they called me back to back about 10 times from a number showing up as 000-000-0000!!! I still have it logged in my phone. According to messages I have received, they are demanding to speak to my attorney and three charges are being filed against me for fraud if I don't return the call by 11am tomorrow. Similar messages have stated that information is being downloaded from my credit file and a lawsuit will be filed against me. This has been going on for almost 5 months now. I have read similar posts on other complaint sites from people who have experienced similar situations from these scammers!! Whomever they are, from what I've read from previous posts, there have been several lawsuits filed against them, however they still remain in existence. They are clearly trying to scam people out of their money by using threats and saying things like "information is being downloaded" and "charges filed against you." I am keeping record of each time these people call me. They never send you anything in the mail either. I know how the legal system works so they're wasting their time. Please do not fall victim to these people as they are scammers and hopefully they will be caught in due time.
Well, here we go again, with this. It is a new number but the same old scam. All I can say is be very, very careful what information you give out online. These people have called my cell phone 2 times in the last 5 minutes and now have called my office. Like it is stated in one of the earlier posts, this isn't a real phone number. I was actually surprised that it showed up in my search. It doesn't even have enough digits to make up a real phone number. Seriously, I am getting so tired of this. I have informed pretty much everyone in my life that these scammers have my information and are basically stalking me to pull off this scam.
I just listend to the message that was left on my office voicemail. OMG! It is always the same, a foreign accent with a very American name. This time it was Justin Simon. The number that he gave me to call back was 646-504-8341. The script that he read was almost word for word what has been described in the previous posts. Wow! you think that they might try to get a bit more original. Obviously, the caller was in a call center. Really, I feel sorry for these call center fools, they may be doing this just to get money to take care of their families, but whoever is running this scam and all of the others like it are just plain criminals. They harrass people and terrorize them. It is crap.
Once again, I will be reporting this to the FCC, the State Attorney General for the State of Texas, and any other agency I can. They stole my information and are selling it amongst other scammers and it is completely illegal.
