Real debt collectors are allowed to call from 8 am to 9 pm your time. The fact that they are spoofing their caller ID speaks volumes about these crooks. Called my number at almost closing time of office. When I picked up, said that he is a collection company and asked for my name. When I asked ' who are you to call me and not even know who you called, he then said his name is Thom Sullivan, that he is trying to collect from a name Jen bla. bla. I asked to never call my number again, he said it will take 24 hours to be removed.
This number phoned my husband claiming to be from a collection agency. The bill he was referring to is a bill that we owe, definitely. When my husband told him we couldn't pay it in full but could make a small payment until we can pay it off at tax time, the guy hung up on him.
