I am getting calls for Credit Card holder on my cell phone as well as my home phone. I just got a call on my cell phone on this number and yesterday it was the same call but from the phone number 401-583-4565.
My husband received the same call on his cell while at work yesterday morning (April 17th). To Lower Inerest Rate. NOT knowing it was a SCAM he gave ALL his INFO.!!! His bday, last 4 digits of his social, the card # & expiration #. The guy asked my husband for the 1-800 # on the back of the card. My husband told him "There is No 1-800." The guy said;"There has to be 1-800 on the back" My husband said" There isn't" The guy REPEATEDLY kept telling my husband to look again. My husband AGAIN said "There isn't one" The guy then said "There has to be One. Hold on." Then that's when the guy HUNG UP!
They Called Me ALSO on my cell the SAME day in the Afternoon!! BUT.. I Hung on them as I ALWAYS DO!!! NOW... What DO WE DO?!!! The card is a Credit card that has been issued to pay a Warranty for our truck of $899.00 with a $100. to use for whatever. So, What I'm asking is CAN these JERKS get Access to Any of my husband's Accounts ? Since they have his LAST 4 SS # & bday? PLEASEEE HELP!!!!!
Call the bank, or GO to the bank. Tell them what happened. They will issue a new card, but you may also have to change your bank accounts. You can also have a credit watch put on you. You will be contacted if there is any suspicious activity. Please inform you husband that when you get a phone call you have no idea who you are talking to. Never give out personal/financial information on such a call. Prime time for scams is late Friday afternoon. Many banks are closed for the weekend, and by Monday morning you've been cleaned out. Check your credit card statement, or bank account statement for an emergency phone number. DO NOT wait until Monday.
