A person on the other end of the line actually spoken when I answered the phone! It is a telemarketer for The Orlando Sentinel. I've dealt with these calls for over a month. The man was apologetic.
Yes this is The Orlando Sentinel. Cancelled the paper over a year ago, and they do not stop calling even though I have told them don't like the new format and the position the paper is slanting toward. But, they can't take NO for an answer. Pests!
Same here I cancelled Nov 2015, and the day after I did I began to get calls from several different numbers since then, If I was thinking about subscribing again that would convince me not to
If you are on the Do Not Call list and it has been more than 18 months since you last were a customer, they are no longer allowed to call you to try and get you to resubscribe. You can report them on the DNC website and sue them for a minimum of $500 per call. The award can be tripled if the caller is willfully disregarding the DNC list.
Regardless of the "prior business relationship", the law states that they must stop calling you when told to do so. This is best accomplished with a certified, return receipt letter so that you have proof. Then as Mike-in-Md has said, you can sue them for at least $500 per call.
