Just got a call from this number. When asked for my husband's number to conference in, I told her he cannot take calls during the day at work. She then asked if I could make decisions on my own and I said yes. Halfway through the spiel, I asked if it includes flights from New Zealand, and she said no. When I said I could not agree to pay the USD498 and airfaires over the phone without consulting my husband she got really pushy, asking what I was afraid of and why can't I make a decision on my own for a fabulous holiday, that I didn't need to book airfares anytime soon and they would help me get a discount. I told her I would have to pass as it's not a decision I can just make on my own and she just rambled on and on about the paradise vacation it would be and how can I say no and my husband wouldn't mind me making the decision as we'd get an amazing holiday etc... To which I said no thanks and hung up.
If I 'win' something I don't expect to pay for it, and she was so desperate to close the deal it was shameful.
They just called me - it took almost a minute before the line connected, so that was already a bad start! - and in an American accent (which I could barely hear over a very loud call centre) he said he was calling long distance from the United States about a vacation.
That was enough for me. I told him never to ring me again and hung up.
Have had this number calling my husband's phone for the past week. Each time asking for me. Identifies himself as Pablo (American Accent) - pretty sure it's the same scam. I'm about to report him because all our numbers are on the Do Not Call Register.
That's great to know! I've also been getting these calls for a very long time. The difference with my calls is just that I've never heard something about a free holiday, when they called me (haven't picked up their calls in around 3 months) they always said: "Hallo! Is Thomas there?" After hearing that alongside with the Belgian telephone code, I hung up. Did the sams once more and haven't picked it up since. But thanks to all of you for the replies, it certainly helped me a lot!
