No one there when i picked up. Probably wouldn't have picked up if I haven't been getting calls from #s I don't recognize in dealing with the companies trying to fix results from the basement flooding.
The caller said I had a virus on my Windows computer. I said I wasn't using Windows. He claimed to know that and said I was using a Mac. No, I said, I'm using Linux Mint. That was apparently fine. He also wanted to know which browser I use. I said Firefox and Chrome. I let him get as far as leading me to download Teamviewer with Firefox and launch it. I was hoping he'd give me some identifying information, but Teamviewer gives a code when you launch it, which you give to the remote party to take control of your computer. So I ended the call there.
He was obviously trying to take control of my computer for nefarious purposes, installing malware, identity theft, or similar. I simply tried to keep him on the line for as long as possible, to waste his time.
