Unknown caller from Florida...called it back and got a message saying "you've reached a non-working number." Really? Then how did I just get a call from them?
The no call list is an "after the fact" resource. If you don't report the calls you receive, the system can't help you. It does not prevent anyone from actually calling you, it simply gives you a means to report the callers and the possibility of them being prosecuted.
People have to understand how the No Call system works. It doesn't prevent anyone from calling you. It is for the prosecution of the abusers. People have to report the callers. If your number isn't registered with your State and National No Call Lists, you have no means of prosecuting the callers. If you are on the lists and you have reported a caller, the State and National Systems contact the caller, tell them not to call you again. If they do after that point, they can be prosecuted. Some times fines are fairly hefty. I have two I reported that were fined almost $75,000. for the repeat calls. Guess what? They have never called me back since then.
got two calls, back to back, from 321-973-8947. When I called back, I got a recording that I was unable to complete the call. ...Please call back...302. Then I called back again and got a busy signal.
Maybe it's China?
