Unknown caller from Florida...called it back and got a message saying "you've reached a non-working number." Really? Then how did I just get a call from them?
That is not correct. No one is using the Do Not Call list as a source for phone numbers to call.
I got rid of my land line about 10 years ago. I put my cell phone number on the Do Not Call list the day I got it. I get fewer than 10 telemarketing and tele-scamming calls per year.
I protect my phone number like its the gold in Fort Knox. I don't enter contests that ask for a phone number. I don't get loyalty cards. I didn't give it to Facebook or LinkedIn. I don't give it to stores when they ask for it.
The only problem I've had was about 5 years ago when I was getting calls for Michael the Deadbeat. Even those calls were legitimate - bill collectors looking for a guy who bought a car he never planned to pay for.
I've been looking for a job for months and with all theses (yes I've had more than this one) MORONS calling and texting my phone I don't know when to pick up and when not to anymore! My cell phone is supposed to be private! How are they getting my number? And why won't anyone stop them?!
Yes, I'm with the rest of you! Someone please stop the madness!
